A Visit to Chavenage House, Tetbury

An opportunity for a private visit to this beautifully-preserved Elizabethan Manor House. The visit will include a light lunch followed by a personal tour by given by one of the family. Records of Chavenage estate exist from before the Norman Conquest, the present house was purchased by Edward Stevens in 1564 and the main buildings remain virtually unchanged to this day. Chavenage House is famed for its many relics and tales from the English Civil War when Nathaniel Stevens, MP for Gloucestershire, supported the Parliamentary cause. Today the house is a favourite location for filmmakers and has featured in many films and television programmes, including the current Poldark series.

Coach leaves Bath (Avon Street Coach Park) 10am

Ploughman’s lunch, coffee and tea at Chavenage House 12:30pm

Tour of House and grounds from 1.30pm

Coach leaves Chavenage at 4pm, arrives Bath 5:05pm approximately
