Overview

Whatever your experience of Shakespeare and performing, this course will help you to feel comfortable, confident and excited to speak Shakespeare’s words and inhabit his wonderful characters.

Course leader Alice Barclay will introduce you to a whole range of Shakespeare’s plays using monologues and duologues to approach the language physically, practically and dynamically. Together, you’ll find playful ways of connecting with these epic stories and making them your own.

The course will conclude with a rehearsed performance of a monologue/duologue, casted by Alice to suit you.

Alice Barclay has been an actor and theatre practitioner for 17 years. Her work as an actor includes several Shakespeare plays and a season at the RSC. She also worked at Shakespeare's Globe for 12 years leading workshops, directing Shakespeare for adults and young people.
