Taken on Trust
With Terry Waite
5 May 2017
Terry Waite’s extraordinary personal account of his experiences as a hostage in Beirut from 1987 – 1991 is undoubtedly one of the great memoirs of our time.
In his prison cell he wrote his autobiography in his head, surviving for 1,763 days in captivity, almost four years of which were in solitary confinement.
This new edition includes an updated foreword and new final chapter, conveying some of Terry’s experiences since his release from captivity 25 years ago. It details his passionate engagement with issues relating to the Middle East, issues of as much relevance today as ever.
