THE GERMAN SEASON
The Ustinov Studio is enjoying an extraordinarily successful period in its history. Kenneth Cranham won the Best Actor Olivier Award 2016 for his exceptional performance in Florian Zeller'sThe Father, a production which premiered at the Ustinov Studio in October 2014. The production was also nominated for Best Sound Design and Best New Play. Florian Zeller's The Mother and Joshua Harmon's Bad Jews also enjoyed London runs and considerable national acclaim.
For Spring 2017, the Ustinov Studio's Artistic Director, Laurence Boswell, returns to Europe to present two UK premieres of acclaimed German Language plays with new English translations from hugely celebrated playwrights, both in their native countries and beyond.
PLASTIC is Marius von Mayenburg's outrageous satire on middle-class political correctness and hypocrisy. Award-winning Matthew Dunster directs. (23 Feb - 25 March)
Oscar winning Hollywood legend F. Murray Abraham stars in THE MENTOR, Daniel Kehlmann's compelling comedy about a confrontation between a spiky old author and a rising young literary star, directed by Laurence Boswell. (6 Apr - 6 May)
