She is undoubtedly the world's greatest crime writer, her books continue to sell millions worldwide every year and there is regular demand for new TV and film adaptations of her works. But Agatha Christie led a surprisingly sheltered life in her native Torquay, while creating some of the most famous characters in fiction from the real people she encountered on the English Riviera.

What motivated this shy, home-loving woman to be create some of our most loved detectives and devious villains, and to become the indisputable Queen of Crime...? Jane Tapley's popular talk will answer these questions and many more.
