One Foot in the Dark is a double bill of a solo by Divija Melally, and an interdisciplinary duet between Divija Melally and Saili Katebe, both honest explorations of two artists from the global majority understanding what it means to navigate through life, questions, and unknowns.

The answers that we are often looking for are waiting on the other side of discomfort, challenging norms and old stories from the past. One Foot in the Dark is an exploration of our known and unknown experiences of identity, culture and change through text and movement. They explore what it means to connect to each other as human beings, and how we can always find these connections, no matter where in the world we have come from.

The solo The Skeleton is White explores how in the present modern world, the colour of our skin can affect our relationship to each other and to the environment that surrounds us. Being in the company of a person of the same race might comfort us, or it might alleviate the sense of danger, and make us feel more conscious and rigid in our bodies. The work questions how we can make our own bodies forget and disregard race, and how we could erase the inscribed whiteness of the skeleton.

Six Degrees from Home is an interdisciplinary exploration of borders and connection. In a world where we are many things at the same time, how do we say the things we want to say but cannot? What valuable information is lost in translation when language and our bodies are telling different stories? Different genders, cultures, and artistic practices exploring connection in a home away from home.
