• Finding and fostering your own creative voice
Summer term dates: w/c 13th May – 13th July.
Throughout the term we will be exploring theatre’s relationship with environmentalism and its potential to address environmental and climatic challenges.
We will be asking:
• What is our responsibility to the world we live in?
• How can we use theatre as a tool for change?
• What impact can our creativity make on those around us?
Through in depth rehearsal skill workshops, character and text analysis and movement and voice exercises members will explore the words of leading playwrights such as Caryl Churchill, Mike Bartlet, Samuel Beckett, Kae Tempest and how they approached the natural world and our responsibility towards it.
Our members will be led by a professional performer to choose and rehearse monologues, dialogues and scenes which they will then perform in a showcase as part of our TRBTS end of term building take over. A full day of performances, workshops and exhibitions all created and led by TRBTS members, inviting members of the public to hear our young people’s voice.
As ever, we believe that finances should not impact a young person’s ability to access the arts. Therefore, we offer bursaries for those who require financial support. Should you require a bursary, please email [email protected] for an application and to reserve your place while this is being processed.
