Theatre School Backstage Spring 2024

Our Backstage group is for anyone wanting to learn more about all things related to Backstage and technical theatre. With sessions ranging from lighting design to puppet making our Backstage group participants are exposed to a variety of essential skills and techniques. Led by industry professionals the group will gain invaluable insight into Backstage careers and a chance to apply those skills in practice.

This term Theatre School groups will be working towards one of three production as part our Theatre School wide festival ‘Danse Macabre: The Art of Darkness’. A gothic storytelling festival celebrating gothic writers, gothic monsters and the art of suspense and mystery.

Our Backstage group participants will work on the different shows in a variety of backstage roles including lighting and sound operating, costume and set design, prop making and stage management.

Please note that if participants wish to work on the shows in a practical capacity they may need to be available for production week, W/c 8^th April.

As ever, we believe that finances should not impact a young person’s ability to access the arts. Therefore, we offer bursaries for those who require financial support.
