Your guide to the 1805 Rooms
Everything you need to know about your new private home from home.Welcome once again, 1805 Club members.
Here at the 1805 Club we are a broad-church! Some of you have been supporting the Theatre Royal for many many years and will fondly remember the 1805 rooms in previous incarnations. For you, using the 1805 rooms is like reacquainting yourself with an old friend.
However, we are also welcoming a whole cohort of new members, both Associates and Friends, who may have joined our ranks in the last 4 years and will never have even set foot inside the 1805 rooms. For you newer members, I hope this journal entry can help answer any queries you might already have about how to use this space.
Whether a new or a returning member, we look forward to welcoming you this summer. Read on to see exactly how you can make use of these private rooms, newly renovated and refurbished just for you.

Your entrance to the 1805 Rooms in on St John's Place, between The Garrick's Head and Stage Door.
The street entrance door will open one hour before curtain up, which will usually be 6.30pm for an evening performance and 1.30pm for a matinee performance. Performance times do sometimes vary so please check your booking!
Once you are through the outer door you are faced with the coded inner door.
Associates, you will receive this code in your pre-show email and the code will change quarterly.
Friends, you will need to ring the buzzer to the left of the door and announce your arrival on the intercom. If you are on the list for that evening you will be let through. You will sign up for entry via your pre-show emails OR by following the link below and selecting your performance date.
We employ this system to prevent the rooms from becoming overcrowded on busy performances. Associates will always have priority access.
From there onwards you simply follow the signs up 2 flights of stairs and through into the rooms themselves...

Walk down into The Meddings Room for some cosy comfort and to watch your fellow members come and go.
Or retreat to The Snug into our tall wing-back chairs for some privacy.
The Boardroom, with its 4 meter long 17th century oak dining table, will be open for larger events and parties.
